Job Application Widget
Updated over 5 months ago

The Job Application Widget on your home page of Teal offers a birds-eye view of how many applications you've submitted within the week. Let's dig into how this works!

Setting a Goal

Upon first signing up with your Teal account, you'll be prompted to select a Target Date for finding a new opportunity. Your Target Date also determines how many applications we suggest you should focus on sending out per week to meet your goal!

For example, if your goal is to start a new position within 0-2 months, we'd recommend sending out 12 applications per week. Below, you'll see the full breakdown:

  • 0-2 months: 12

  • 3-4 months: 6

  • 5-6 months: 4

  • 7-9 months: 3

  • 9-12 months: 2

  • 12+ months: 1

  • Default (no Target Date): 5

The goal will be presented in your Job Application widget:

You can also manually change your goal by clicking the Pencil Icon associated with the widget:

Tracking Your Goal

After you've established your goal of applications sent per week, how does it track?

Each time you place a job in your Job Tracker into the Applied stage, it will count towards your goal!

It's important to note that this is a weekly goal tracked Monday - Sunday! If you've set your Date Applied within a previous week, it won't count towards your present goals.

As soon as you've set your job to "Applied" and your "Date Applied" field is associated with the present week,

you'll see your Job Applications Widget on your homepage reflect that change.

Why is using the Job Application widget helpful?

If you're actively searching for a new role, tracking your progress and activity towards that role can:

  • Create accountability around working towards your goals

  • Serve as a reminder that you're actively working toward said goals and you're productive in your pursuit

  • Help you keep track of the volume of applications you've sent to know if you're aligned with your goals
