Unsure whether or not you should accept a job offer? Use our Offer Analysis tool to break it down and help you make your decision!

Updated over a month ago

Why should I use the Offer Analysis tool?

First off, congratulations on receiving a job offer! πŸ₯³

A comprehensive offer letter usually contains details regarding your job terms, compensation (cash and variable), equity, and other employee benefits. When reviewing your offer, it's important to understand exactly what you are being offered before you make a decision about it.

Our Offer Analysis tool breaks down these details from your offer letter into easy-to-understand language. You'll also have the opportunity to ask our Compensation AI Agent as many follow-up questions as you'd like, until you've eliminated any ambiguities surrounding the offer and can make a more confident decision.

Accessing the Offer Analysis

Click on the currency icon ($) in the left navigation bar of the website to open our Compensation Agent. Then, switch to the "Offer Analysis" tab near the top of the page.

First Offer Analysis

If you haven't uploaded a job offer into this tool before, you'll see a menu appear prompting you to select the saved job that the offer is for and add the offer details (either via a manual copy and paste or document upload).

Analyze Additional Offers

After you've completed your first job offer analysis, you will not automatically be prompted to upload offer details upon opening the tool. Instead, you'll see a list of your previous offer analyses.

To add another offer from this page, click the "Create Offer" button and the upload menu will appear.

Reviewing Your Offer Details

Once your job offer has been processed, you'll see it broken down into several key components: Key Terms, Cash Compensation, Variable Compensation, and Employment Terms.

Key Terms

"Key Terms" lists your basic job details: Job Title, Work Start Date, Work Environment, and Employment Location.

Cash Compensation

"Cash Compensation" covers base salary and equity options.

Variable Compensation

"Variable Compensation" highlights any compensation offered outside of your cash compensation, which can include various bonuses, commission pay, profit sharing, and more.

Employment Terms

"Employment Terms" details the terms of your employment, including conditions of employment, employment type, and more.

NOTE: Need a refresher on what offer details you initially pasted or the document you uploaded? Click into the "Offer Materials" tab to view your original submission!

Using the Compensation Agent

Once you've reviewed your offer components, you can ask our Compensation Agent any questions you may have about them!

Example questions can range from comparing your compensation against industry standards to benefits details. You can even ask the agent to provide examples of follow-up questions to ask the hiring manager directly!
