Our Teal Chrome extension can review your LinkedIn profile and provide feedback to help you stand out amongst hundreds of other profiles!

NOTE: Make sure you have our Teal Chrome extension installed! The LinkedIn Profile Review function cannot be run without it.

Using the LinkedIn Review Tool

Navigate to your LinkedIn profile page and click the Teal extension icon to open the LinkedIn Review tool. In the side panel, you'll see feedback on various profile components: (1) Profile Picture, (2) Banner, (3) LinkedIn URL, (4) Headline, (5) About, (6) Experience, and (7) Skills.

You can click into each section to view more detailed analyses and feedback for that particular area of your LinkedIn profile.

Profile Picture

The "Profile Picture" section checks if you have a profile picture on your LinkedIn. You'll see tips for selecting the best photo for your profile here as well.

  • A green circle with a check means that your LinkedIn has a profile picture.

  • A red circle with an exclamation point will appear if you are missing one.

Banner

The "Banner" section checks if you have a banner image on your profile. You'll see tips for creating a banner for LinkedIn here too.

  • A green circle with a check means that your LinkedIn has a banner.

  • A red circle with an exclamation point will appear if you are missing one.

LinkedIn URL

LinkedIn's default profile URLs can be long and difficult to remember. The "LinkedIn URL" section checks if you have customized your profile URL. You'll see instructions for updating your LinkedIn URL and tips for making it look cleaner.

  • A green circle with a check means that your LinkedIn URL has been customized.

  • A red circle with an exclamation point will appear if you have not updated your default URL yet.

Headline

The "Headline" section checks if you have a detailed headline on your LinkedIn profile. You'll see tips for what to include in your headline here as well.

  • A green circle with a check means that your LinkedIn has a detailed headline

  • A red circle with an exclamation point will appear if you are missing one.

About

The "About" section checks if you have content within this part of your profile. You'll also see advice on details to include within your "About" summary here.

  • A green circle with a check means that your "About" section has been filled out.

  • A red circle with an exclamation point will appear if this section is missing content.

Experience

The "Experience" section checks if you have filled out your previous work history for your LinkedIn profile. You'll see guidance on adding metric-centered bullets to your profile, as well as examples of effective bullet points here.

  • A green circle with a check means that your "Experience" section is sufficiently filled out.

  • A red circle with an exclamation point will appear if this section is missing content.

Skills

The "Skills" section checks if you have skills listed on your LinkedIn profile. You'll see tips for adding and enhancing the display of your skills here too.

  • A green circle with a check means that your "Skills" section is sufficiently filled out.

  • A red circle with an exclamation point will appear if this section is missing content.

Receiving Updated Feedback

Once you've made changes based on our extension's recommendations, you can click the “Check Again” button to run the profile analysis again!
