The Job Tracker is your partner in navigating your job search journey! It's here to support you every step of the way, offering valuable guidance tailored to each stage of your process.

To give you a better understanding, let's summarize what these items are and guide you to where they're located.


Getting Started

First, click into your Job Tracker and find the job you are wanting to work on or move.


Bookmarked Tab

After bookmarking a job, click into the Guidance bar. You will see several guidance suggestions.

  • Look through the highlighted skills and keywords to match your experience.

  • Research the company's values to align with your career goals.

  • Rate your excitement level to prioritize job applications.


Applying Tab

When you move to the next tab, you will see the next step. Be sure to click into each one for even more helpful suggestions!

  • Find options like getting a referral, customizing your resume, and cover letter.

  • Identify the recruiter or hiring manager for personalized interaction.

  • Submit your application after completing necessary customizations.


Applied Tab

Within the Applied tab, you can:

  • Follow up on job applications using provided dates/reminders.

  • Send first, second, and third follow-ups according to the specified timeline.

  • Archive the job on the tracker if no response after 3 weeks.


Interviewing Tab

In the Interviewing tab, you can:

  • Research the company and role to prepare effectively.

  • Practice answering common interview questions to build confidence.

  • Test your tech setup if the interview is virtual.

  • Follow up with a thank-you note post-interview.


Negotiating Tab

In this next tab, you can:

  • Research your targets including industry standards and company specifics.

  • Prepare thoroughly for negotiations, considering all aspects of the offer.

  • Evaluate the offer comprehensively, not just focusing on salary.

  • Calculate your budget to determine your financial requirements.

  • Determine your market value based on skills and experience.

  • Gather market data from reliable sources for informed negotiation.

  • Define your target salary range realistically.

  • Review your accomplishments and unique skills to articulate your value.

  • Focus on meeting the employer's needs during negotiations.

  • Practice discussing your value confidently.

  • Prepare negotiation scripts to guide your discussions.


Accepted & Close Job Tabs

At this stage, you have the option to either mark the job as Accepted (YAY!) or close it. If you choose to close the job, you'll be presented with various categories to select from: "I Withdrew," "Not Selected," "No Response," "Archived," or "Delete Job."


Why is the Job Tracker Helpful?

It helps keep track of the progress of various tasks related to the job. This ensures that nothing falls through the cracks, and all necessary actions are taken on time.
