What You'll See in Edit Mode
When you click into a bullet, you'll see:
β
Text field with your bullet content (highlighted border)
Character and word count (bottom left, e.g., "C: 199 W: 28")
Save to All Resumes checkbox (bottom right)
Improve with AI button (bottom left)
Cancel and Save buttons (bottom right)
β
Using "Improve with AI"
The Improve with AI button helps strengthen weak bullets by suggesting better phrasing, adding metrics, or improving action verbs.
β
Click into a bullet to enter edit mode
Click Improve with AI
Review the suggested improvements
Accept a suggestion, or click Regenerate for more options
Edit the result as needed
Click Save
βImportant: AI suggestions may include placeholder metrics (like "increased sales by 40%"). Always replace these with your actual numbers before saving.
Note on credits: Free Teal users have limited AI credits. Teal+ members have unlimited bullet improvements.
Using the Bullet Coach
When you edit a bullet, the Bullet Coach appears on the right side of your screen. It analyzes your bullet and provides feedback on:
β
Overall Score β weighted average of all components
Character & Word Count β aim for 100-150 characters
Spelling & Grammar β catches errors
Metrics β checks for measurable achievements
Action Verbs β looks for strong verbs at the start
Keywords β finds recognizable skills
After making changes, your score shows "Score Outdated" until you click Run Analysis again.

Understanding "Save to All Resumes"
π Save to All Resumes: When checked, your edit syncs across all resume versions. Uncheck it to make changes only to this specific resume.
When you edit a bullet, you'll see a Save to All Resumes checkbox. This controls whether your edit syncs across all your resume versions.
Checked (default): Your edit updates this bullet everywhere it appears. This keeps your content consistent across all tailored versions.
Unchecked: Your edit only applies to this specific resume. Other versions keep the original wording.
When to Uncheck It
You're tailoring specific language for one job
You want to test different phrasing on one resume
The edit only makes sense for this particular application
What Happens If You Don't Sync
If you edit a bullet and uncheck "Save to All Resumes," your other resume versions will show an Update Available indicator. You can review the change later and decide whether to apply it.

Toggling Bullets On and Off
Not every bullet belongs on every resume. Use the checkboxes to control what appears on each tailored version:
β
Find the bullet you want to show or hide
Click the checkbox to the left of the bullet
β Checked = bullet appears on this resume
β¬ Unchecked = bullet is hidden on this resume
βNote: Toggling a bullet off doesn't delete it. The bullet stays in your account and can be toggled back on anytime. This is the core of Teal's approach β build comprehensive content once, then toggle what's relevant for each job.
Reordering Bullets
To change the order of your bullets:
β
Hover over the bullet you want to move
Click and hold the drag handle (six dots icon on the left)
Drag the bullet to its new position
Release to drop it in place
βTip: Put your most impressive and relevant achievements first. Recruiters often only read the top 2-3 bullets per job.
Deleting a Bullet
ποΈ Warning: Deleting removes the bullet permanently from your accountβnot just this resume. If you might want it later, toggle it off instead.
Hover over the bullet you want to remove
Click the trash icon that appears
Confirm the deletion when prompted
β οΈ Warning: Deleting a bullet removes it permanently from your account, not just from this resume. If you might want the bullet later, toggle it off instead of deleting.
Bullet Hover Actions
When you hover over any bullet, a toolbar appears with quick actions:
Icon | Action | What It Does |
β¨ | Improve with AI | Opens AI suggestions for this bullet |
βοΈ | Edit | Opens the bullet in edit mode |
π | Duplicate | Creates a copy of this bullet |
ποΈ | Delete | Permanently removes the bullet |
Troubleshooting
My bullet isn't saving
Check your internet connection
Make sure you clicked Save, not Cancel
Try refreshing the page and re-entering your edit
If you see a red dot next to the Save button, there are unsaved changes
I edited a bullet but it didn't update on my other resumes
Check if Save to All Resumes was unchecked when you saved
Go to your other resumes and look for the Update Available indicator
Click the indicator to review and apply the change
My bullet is too long
Aim for 1-2 lines (100-150 characters is ideal)
Check the character count in edit mode (bottom left)
Use the Bullet Coach feedback to optimize length
Use Improve with AI to help condense wordy bullets
I accidentally deleted a bullet
Unfortunately, deleted bullets cannot be recovered
If you remember the content, re-add it manually
Pro tip: In the future, toggle bullets off instead of deleting them
The AI suggestions don't match my experience
AI generates examples based on your job title and context
Always customize suggestions with your real achievements and numbers
Use the Regenerate button for different options
Try the Coach Me option for more guided bullet creation
