Manually Create a Professional Summary
Open the resume you'd like to edit and navigate to the "Professional Summaries" section in your Resume Builder.
To create a new professional summary, click "Add Professional Summary."
Guidance
As you create your professional summary, you'll see a "Guidance" section on the right-hand side of your page, which will provide recommendations on which career history details to include in your summary.
Generate a Professional Summary with AI
If you need more help creating a professional summary, you can click the "Suggest Summary" button to have our AI generate three options for you.
On a free Teal account, you will have 2 credits to use for Professional Summary AI generation.
Teal+ members have unlimited generations.
The tool will take into account the resume data you've imported into your Resume Builder, as well as any matched job description, to write a professional summary that covers those key components listed in our Guidance section.
After your summaries have been generated, you can review the options and pick the one you prefer. If you're not satisfied with any of the results, you can click "Regenerate" to view three more!
Once you've decided on a summary, click "Use Professional Summary" and make any necessary adjustments to best fit your experiences. Once you're happy with the final draft, click "Save," and it'll be added to your resume.
NOTE: While our Professional Summary AI may be a helpful tool for getting started, it still requires you, the real person, to review the generated content and make edits as needed until you feel confident about the final draft.
For example, the generation might include generic metrics that aren't as applicable to your experiences. This is where you would need to revise the content and add in your specific KPIs! If you're unsure about how to include metrics/KPIs in your resume, check out our blog post HERE.
